Everlasting Spring Flowers in Paper with Allison Sylvester

Everlasting Spring Flowers in Paper with Allison Sylvester
AT KOKUTAN FLOWER FARM
Sunday 17th May 2026
10am – 4pm
There is something quietly absorbing about making flowers by hand. In this one-day workshop, we’ll use specialist crepe papers to create natural, everlasting spring flowers inspired by violas and crocus, light, delicate forms that hold their beauty long after the season has passed.
Artist and experienced tutor ALLISON SYLVESTER will guide you through the slow, satisfying process of painting, dyeing and shaping paper. With wire, tape and thread, these fragile elements are carefully brought together, resulting in a small botanical arrangement, finished in a vintage flower pot.
This workshop is open to beginners and those returning to paper flower making. The techniques learned are thoughtful and versatile, and can be applied to many other flower forms. For anyone wishing to explore further, an intermediate workshop may follow later in the year.
We’ll be working in Kokutan’s glasshouse, surrounded by early summer colour, scent and form, a space that invites attention, curiosity and quiet making.
